Becky Alper for Minneapolis Park Board District 3

Posted

“Our parks face many urgent issues -- including a changing climate, aging infrastructure, and
increasing wealth disparities,” said Becky. “We need Park Board members who will move past
divisiveness and, instead, tackle these challenges as a team. The better our parks are
managed, the better they will meet our needs for recreation and relaxation.”
Becky received 55% of the DFL endorsement vote in June and is running a community-driven
campaign that welcomes input from neighbors whose voices have not been heard in the past.
“We could have filed for this election by just paying a fee, as many other candidates did,” said
Becky’s treasurer, Noelle Morrell. “But that’s not the approach Becky wanted to take. She
wanted to hear directly from our neighbors, so she spent every evening visiting parks across the
district and listening to what our community members envision for parks. Each of these 500
signatures represents a personal story.”
