East River Parkway Corridor Study beginning November 2026

Posted

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is initiating a corridor study for East River Parkway from Franklin Avenue to Emerald Street.
This stretch of the parkway system needs replacements and can no longer be managed with pavement replacement alone, according to MPRB. The study is funded through MnDOT Local Road Improvement funds.
Design work will begin in Nov. 2026 and continue through summer of 2027. A full reconstruction is planned for the future, although funding for this phase has not yet been identified.
