The first opportunity to see all five Hennepin County attorney candidates before the primary election on Aug. 11 (when the field will be winnowed down to just two) will be during a candidate forum on June 25 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Golden Valley City Hall. It is hosted by the League of Women Voters of Golden Valley and League of Women Voters Minneapolis, along with eight local* Hennepin County Area Leagues.
All candidates for this non-partisan race have been invited. They are, in alphabetical order: Anders Folk, Cedrick Frazier, Diane Krenz, Hao Nguyen and Matt Pelikan. The two candidates who receive the most votes in the Primary Election on August 11 will proceed to the General Election on November 3rd.
The event is free and open to the public. It will be live streamed at http://gvlive.ccxmedia.org/ and the recording will be available online after the forum. If you need an ASL interpreter, contact the League office by June 21.
Written questions will be accepted during the forum and voters may submit questions in advance to lwvgv@lwvmn.org.
This forum is the community’s first opportunity to hear from Aall the candidates before early voting begins for the Primary Election. Between June 26 and Aug. 10, Minneapolis voters may cast their ballots at the Minneapolis Elections Office or by requesting an absentee ballot. Note, voters DO NOT need to declare a political party affiliation in order to participate.
